OpenAI announced on Twitter that the Advanced Sound Mode (AWM) feature, which appeared on September 25, is now available for all users. Accordingly, Team, Enterprise, Edu users will also be able to use the feature, which was previously only available to Plus users. ChatGPT did not forget the free ChatGPT users. Free ChatGPT users will also have the chance to experience the Advanced Voice Mode feature.

OpenAI also presented the new features coming for ChatGPT at a developer event yesterday. Sam Altman introduced these new features at a closed developer event yesterday. Accordingly, developers will now have the opportunity to create voice assistants via ChatGPT. With this new API, which offers capabilities similar to Advanced Voice Mode, developers will be able to create their own custom voice assistants.

In fact, developers already have the ability to create voice assistants with ChatGPT. However, a developer had to create multiple APIs for speech recognition, text processing and text-to-speech conversion. Now, thanks to the new API, it will be possible to create a voice assistant in one go without hassle.

There are other new features for ChatGPT developers. One of them is the Model Distillation feature. With this feature, developers will have the opportunity to balance increased costs while getting high performance. The feature will allow developers to customize cheaper and smaller models such as the ChatGPT-4o mini with output from advanced models such as the ChatGPT-4o and o1 preview.

Another useful developer feature is the Prompt Caching feature. With this feature, ChatGPT will remember frequent prompts and speed up the output. OpenAI has also extended the tweaks for ChatGPT-4o to include images. This allows developers to customize ChatGPT-4o by feeding it with both custom images and text.
